Travel day

Sunday we had another early morning.  Doug can’t sleep past 3:30.  His internal clock is having a hard time adjusting.  The rest of us woke up around 5:00.  We were able to skype with Casey and Grace at Grandma and Grandad’s.  It was great to see their smiling faces!

We left for the airport at 8:20 with our travel group. The Barcelos’ left earlier in the morning to catch the train to Chloe’s province.  We are so excited for them, they have already received Chloe!  Friday we will meet back up with them in Guangzhou.
Yesterday was a pretty mellow day, the only event of interest was Hannah's experience with the Chinese airport security.  Our whole group was waiting and Hannah was the last through.  Security had identified some shady things on their scanners in Hannah's bag, and they proceeded to ask her questions, take things out of her bag, and re-run her bag, repeatedly.  Finally we isolated the problem item to her pointy metal compass (the math tool used to draw circles).  From the look on Hannah's face during this ordeal, she must have thought she was going to a communist dungeon.  To her relief she made it through to the applause of our whole group.  We new Hannah was going to be the trouble maker on this trip.
Well today is the day that we have waited many months for.  Gotcha day with Jack!  We will receive him around 11 am local time which is 7pm in California.  Your prayers for Jack's transition into his new family are coveted.
Our next post should be much more exciting!
